about

I make pictures with paint, paper, scissors and glue. I love colour and textures. My work space is messy, with paper trails often leading to the kitchen.

I studied BA Illustration at Norwich School of Art & Design (now NUA) between 1994-97, then completed my MA in Sequential Illustration & Design at University of Brighton in 1999. I have illustrated over 20 picture books to date, for publishers including Walker Books, Templar Publishing, Hachette Children's Books, Frances Lincoln, Gecko Press and most recently Barefoot Books.

Since becoming a mum I’ve made a lot illustrations inspired by my boys and my experiences and observations of motherhood. They are like a diary; snippets and moments that might have otherwise got lost in the fuzzy haze of tiredness and sleep deprivation.

My part-time role as Primary School Librarian has also played a big part in my creative journey, leading me to create artworks on a much larger scale using different materials.

I currently live in Bedford with my partner and two boys.
