about

me orange.jpg

I make pictures with paint, paper, scissors and glue. I love colour and texture, snipping and sticking, painting, mark making and getting my hands dirty. My workspace is messy, with paper trails leading all over the house but mostly to the kitchen!

I spent 3 memorable years of my childhood in Japan between the ages of 7 to 10, and I believe that experience combined with my upbringing in London very much influence me and my work today. Memory, feelings, the every day and nature are some of the themes I like to explore. More recently, motherhood, our children and my part-time role as Primary School Librarian have been the inspiration behind much of my work.

I studied BA Illustration at Norwich School of Art & Design (now NUA), followed by MA in Sequential Illustration & Design at University of Brighton. I have illustrated over 20 picture books to date, as well as greeting cards, packaging and magazines in the UK and worldwide.

I currently live in Bedford with my partner and our two boys.
